Come to the party prepared. Get invited back for more.
- Host Gifting 101: Always bring something for the host, but never give them extra work.
- Flowers are a perfect offering. Just make sure they’re already in a vase.
- Bring a bottle — but don’t open it right away. Your host might have a special wine they’re hoping to share, and they can save your unopened bottle for themselves if it’s still corked.
- If you’re bringing a dish to share, ask your host beforehand if there are any dietary restrictions in the mix.
- Feet First: Wear cute socks in case the host prefers you to leave your shoes at the door.
- Pics or it didn’t happen. Send a thank you text and include any photos you took of the event. (Hosts are usually too busy to take their own.)
- Keep new friends: Follow up on meet cutes within 24 hrs and try to get the next hang on the books. Cheers to connecting offline!
- It’s a matter of time: Be on time, but never early. Stay a while, but never too late. No one wants to be that guy.
- Say cheers: It’s always encouraged to propose a toast to the host. Short and sweet does the trick.
